The University of Houston Office of Sustainability is partnering with UH Football for its #BYOBottle social media campaign, which will take place during the first two weeks of the spring semester.
During the campaign, which runs Jan. 16-27, students, faculty and staff who post a photo of themselves using a reusable water bottle on Instagram or Twitter with #BYOBottle and @UHSustain will be entered into a drawing to win cool prizes, including tote bags and T-shirts.
UH Football has donated a special prize package, which will be given to one grand prize winner. It will also post a video about the importance of hydration to go in conjunction with the campaign. All prize winners will be announced on Monday, Jan. 30.
The #BYOBottle campaign is meant to encourage people to minimize single-use plastic water bottles and opt instead for reusable water bottles. Anyone with reusable water bottles can refill them at the UH2O stations located inside many of the buildings across the UH main campus.
