The UH Office of Sustainability’s mission is to foster a culture of sustainability that guides scholarship and operations, advances social and environmental excellence, and positions the University of Houston as a Top 50 public university.
The Office serves as a centralized hub for the University of Houston’s sustainability efforts in order to improve campus operations, engagement, and collaboration. We aim to:
ADVOCATE, ENGAGE, INSPIRE
- ADVOCATE for improvements to the University and student life;
- ENGAGE with students, faculty, and staff to implement change;
- INSPIRE our community by demonstrating sustainable practices.
On-campus initiatives include single-stream recycling, collaborations with student organizations, tree planting and maintenance, and development of green programs.
