Volunteers, Sponsors, Exhibitors Needed for Sustainability Fest

This year’s Sustainability Fest will take place at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7 at Butler Plaza. Volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors are needed to help make the event a success.

Volunteers can sign up to help with Sustainability Fest by completing the online volunteer sign-up form by Oct. 21. Shifts are available from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and include setting up, checking in volunteers and exhibitors the day of the festival, handing out event location guides, crowd control, manning snack, water and zero-waste stations, event breakdown and general event assistance.

Lunch will be provided to all volunteers, and training will be available on request. Those with specific questions about volunteering may contact the UH Office of Sustainability at sustainability@uh.edu.

Additionally, the Office of Sustainability is seeking exhibitors as well as monetary or raffle donations from sponsors. Sponsorship benefits include recognition in press documents, social media, the Sustainability Fest Partners website, campus advertisements, public signage recognition at the event and more. The higher the donation, the more benefits the sponsor will receive. Sponsorship donation levels include:

  • Bronze level (up to $100)
  • Silver level ($101 to $300)
  • Cougar Red level ($301 and above)

To become a sponsor, submit the online sponsorship form by Oct. 10. For more information about the sponsorship levels and their benefits, click here.

To sign up as an exhibitor, submit the online exhibitors form by Oct. 7.

Sustainability Fest is a zero-waste event that provides information about the latest developments in sustainability. Hosted by the Office of Sustainability, the event gathers campus and community organizers to engage attendees about sustainability-related topics through interactive activities and prizes. Last year’s Sustainability Fest saw more than 250 guests. That number is expected to double at this year’s festival.
