Help Build Equity and Inclusion in Our Community
First-year medical student Brandon Gonzalez was drawn to the University of Houston College of Medicine because of its mission to eliminate health disparities in underserved urban and rural areas, which often have poorer health outcomes.
“I know that Hispanic and African American communities, especially during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, are suffering disproportionately,” Gonzalez said. “I want to take care of those communities.”
Gonzalez is one example of the many students, faculty and staff who will help UH fulfill its dream of building equity and inclusion in our community. By increasing its social responsibility initiatives, UH can make an impact that will last for generations.
