College Peer Assistants

If you’re looking for a dynamic, interactive student worker position then you should consider being a Peer Assistant (PA)! Colleges are hiring student staff to assist academic advisors during New Student Orientation. This unique position will provide graduate or undergraduate students with the opportunity to work alongside full-time Academic Advisors as they assist new students with the advisement and course enrollment process at UH.  PAs will go through general training to become proficient in university processes and rules which impact degree completion and then move on to work with full-time Academic Advisors in specific colleges to learn about the advisement and registration process. Once training is complete, our PAs will initiate communication with new students before they arrive for their Orientation, helping them prepare for their on-campus experience! When the big day arrives for our new students, PAs meet with students in their assigned college and assist with the registration process.

Application Process

To apply, select your college from the list below and follow the instructions provided. You may only apply to one college and it must be the college in which you are currently majoring; if you began at UH as an Exploratory Studies major and have since changed your major, you are welcome to apply to Undergraduate Student Success.
