HK Quinn Valier, Ph.D.

HK Quinn Valier is the director of Student Engagement for UH Population Health and research associate professor in the Honors College.

Valier leads the new student chapter of the Interdisciplinary Association for Population Health Science at the University of Houston and teaches as part of the Medicine & Society Program in the Honors College.

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Valier holds an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the University of Cambridge, as well as graduate degrees in the history and philosophy of science, technology and medicine from the University of Manchester.

Winner of several awards for student engagement, teaching and writing, Valier has taught and written extensively on the history of health and disease in local and global contexts and is an experienced student cohort developer, overseeing trips and projects here and abroad.
