Dr. Audrius Brazdeikis is the principal investigator of the Biomagnetic Imaging and Nanomedicine Laboratory at the Texas Center for Superconductivity at University of Houston (TcSUH). His research interests are generally in the area of magnetic sensors and biomedical instrumentation development for sensing, imaging and therapeutic intervention applications.

Specifically, his group is now focusing on magnetic nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, application of novel magnetic nanoparticles for pre-clinical imaging and hyperthermia, and cancer staging applications. Areas of active research also include ultra-low field magnetic imaging techniques (SQUID), biomagnetic signal acquisition for prenatal and adult heart functional diagnostics, and biomedical signal acquisition and processing. Other areas of recent research include Epitaxial oxide (ferroelectrics, magnetoresistive oxides, superconductors) thin films for device applications, artificially layered oxide structures, and surfaces and interfaces of oxide thin films.

Brazdeikis has authored over 50 original scientific publications in leading scientific journals and has 6 issued U.S. and 2 foreign patents. He has served as an independent technology consultant to Baylor College of Medicine, UT-Health Science Center and Texas Heart Institute. He has co-founded two technology startups to commercialize his latest research innovations.
