Students Attend Short Course on Geology Modules in Petrel
Two Instructors from Schlumberger Led Course

In late July, 24 University of Houston geoscience students took a short course focused on using Geology Modules in Petrel, an industry standard software. Two instructors from Schlumberger, Eron Singleton and Laurence Jayawardane, ran the course organized by GeoSociety.

During the three-day course held on campus, students learned about software functionality while being exposed to basic industry practices.

The short course is part of GeoSociety’s initiative to increase professional opportunities for students in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
