Dr. Vilalta and Dr. Tosic are the Recipients of an Industrial Grant from Halliburton Energy Services

Halliburton Energy Services has awarded a research contract to the Pattern Analysis Laboratory. The project contemplates the study and development of computational/Artificial intelligence tools for the accurate prediction of stuck pipes during the drilling of oil fields. This project is a collaboration effort between University of Houston and Halliburton. The laboratory of Pattern Analysis will provide various AI and machine learning methods to determine the application of AI to predict the occurrence of stuck pipes.

The project entails a multi-phase/year approach for development, training, and support for an initial estimated cost of $214,000 over 1 year.
