Faculty Recital: Mann-Wen Lo, violin

Come enjoy another exciting recital in the Moores School of Music! Professor of Practice in Violin, Mann-Wen Lo will be joined by guest pianist Fanya Lin (Associate Professor of Practice in Piano, the University of Arizona), guest violist Luther Warren (Violin/ Viola Instructor, Merrimack College), and UH faculty member Eunghee Cho (Professor of Practice in Cello).
Violinist Mann-Wen Lo performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician, appearing at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Walt Disney Hall, and Taiwan National Concert Hall. Featured on radio and TV in the United States, Taiwan, Japan, and France, her recording with the Mana Music Quartet—celebrating Queen Liliʻuokalani—earned Instrumental Album of the Year at the 2021 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.
Mann-Wen has performed as a soloist with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Academy of Taiwan Strings, Tokyo Geidai Strings Ensemble, and American Contemporary Ballet. She has served as guest concertmaster for Pasadena Opera, American Contemporary Ballet, and Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, and has recorded for Warner Classics, Navona Records, and CMH Label Groups.
Currently Professor of Practice in Violin at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music, Mann-Wen is a recurring faculty member at summer festivals including Deutsch-Polnische Festival für junge Musiker, Montecito International Music Festival, and Texas Music Festival. She has also served on juries for competitions such as the International Music Competition Opus 2022 and the Houston Virtuosi Concerto Competition.
