Convergence Research with Josie Mitchell

Wednesday, February 23, 2022

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This season’s Mitchell Center Scholar in Residence, Josie Mitchell, will lead participants through ekphrastic writing exercises in response to the current exhibitions at the Blaffer Art Museum.

While ekphrastic writing traditionally responds to artwork with poetry, this session encourages hybrid forms. This event welcomes all writing and comfort levels. Please bring your own paper, pencil or device.

Convergence Research is a new, ongoing platform for interdisciplinary research, experimentation, improvisation and performance. University of Houston students and faculty from across the disciplines–and beyond the arts–meet to discuss and present projects in a state of becoming. All are welcome to attend, observe and join the conversation.
