Razón / Reason Exhibition

Sunday, February 13, 2022

10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Come see Maya Stovall’s exhibition, Razón / Reason, for FREE through March 13, 2022, at the Blaffer Art Museum!

This exhibition is part of a larger arts residency supported by the Mitchell Center in which Maya has been invited to work with a cross-disciplinary group of University of Houston students to add a site-specific entry to this ongoing collection. The result of Maya’s “effort,” in her words, “to center the history, the struggle, and the insights of the people of Houston and the Southwest,” is a date that recognizes the founding of the Raza Unida Party in Texas as a third-party alternative to the U.S. system’s two-party status quo.

Maya Stovall is a conceptual artist and anthropologist who works across video, objects and performance, and is an Assistant Professor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
