The School of Theatre & Dance presents How I Learned to Play Tennis by comfort ifeoma katchy. This event will be performed live and in person.
Directed by Rob Shimko and Phillip Kershaw
This world premiere by School of Theatre & Dance senior Comfort Katchy is a coming-of-age story following Anya, a rising high school senior hoping to get scouted and begin her life as a professional tennis player. Feeling discouraged by her conservative Nigerian father who wants her to think more practically about her future, she turns to her tennis coach for the support she desperately desires. Though her best friend and teammate Mariana warns against it, Anya finds herself emotionally smitten by the coach and is soon swooped into a relationship she isn’t ready for. With the support of those closest to her, Anya begins to find her footing as she navigates what life continues to serve her way.
