Thursday, September 19, 2024

7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Moores School Percussion Ensembles I & II present “Pittering, Pattering, and Other Situations,” a program of diverse works for percussion ensemble. The program includes two works by Adam Silverman—Pittering/Pattering and Gasoline Rainbow; Machado Mijiga’s Situations Suite; Thomas Gauger’s classic quintet Gainsborough; and two works for large percussion ensemble—Arcanical Plains by the late Christopher Deane and David Hall’s Slide for 15 percussionists and piano. Also featured is Christopher Rouse’s Bonham for drumset soloist and ensemble, which the composer writes is “an ode to rock drumming and drummers, most particularly Led Zeppelin’s legendary drummer, the late John Bonham.”
