The University of Houston College of Education is pleased to announce that Jorge Gonzalez will join the Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY) as an Associate Professor. Dr. Gonzalez received his doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and prior to joining us, was an Associate Professor in the College of Education at Texas A&M University.

His scholarly work focuses on the processes by which teachers and families pass along knowledge to their students and children, as well as early reading difficulties in disadvantaged children. Dr. Gonzalez is the Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator on three federally funded grants awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. His published works are represented in multidisciplinary-refereed journals and book chapters.
