Zach Jones-Butler

Zach is a dedicated student affairs professional with a passion for student empowerment and success. He earned his Bachelor of Professional Studies in Sport Management from Cazenovia College and later obtained his Master’s in Higher Education from Buffalo State University.

Before joining the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Houston (UH), Zach served as a Residential Life Coordinator at UH, providing support and guidance to students in their on-campus living experience. Prior to that, he worked as a Success Coach at Buffalo State University, where he played a key role in mentoring students throughout their college journey.

During his undergraduate years, Zach founded a men’s empowerment program at Cazenovia College, focused on increasing retention and support for men of color—a testament to his ongoing commitment to equity and student development.

Zach is passionate about helping students expand their horizons, both academically and personally. He currently serves as a staff advisor for a learning abroad program, encouraging students to engage in global experiences. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, running, working out, attending sporting events, and exploring Houston’s diverse culinary scene.
