UEP Welcomes New Program Coordinator

Sharlene Laud serves as the Program Coordinator for the Urban Experience Program and Teach Forward Houston partnership with Houston ISD. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Politic Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. While at Rutgers University, Sharlene recognized the importance of quality K-12 education in properly preparing students for the academic rigor and challenges they would face in college. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Sharlene moved to Houston, TX to teach 3rd grade. Through teaching, Sharlene witnessed and learned from colleagues the transformational impact that passionate teachers can have on their students. Sharlene earned her Masters of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University. She is committed to continuing her impact in education by ensuring that students have the tools and support needed to be successful throughout their educational experience. Sharlene is excited to share her passion for education with the UH community. Please join us in welcoming Sharlene Laud to the Urban Experience Program!
