Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
UH Counseling and Psychological Services offers crisis support by phone 24/7 at 713-743-5454. CAPS is also available to also assist if you are concerned about a fellow student who may be struggling or in crisis. From more traditional individual and couples counseling to workshops, group therapy, and single-session therapy, CAPS offers a dynamic array of services to students.
Togetherall: Peer Support Mental Health Chat
Togetherall is a diverse and safe online community – a place where students can feel safe to share their feelings, support each other, and start to feel better. The platform expands the role and reach of peer support to populations large and small. Students benefit from this online peer-to-peer community by receiving and providing support 24/7.
Welltrack Boost: Interactive Self-Help Therapy
Welltrack Boost is a self-guided web application or mobile app that helps individuals assess, understand, and work on their own behavioral health and wellness.
“Let’s Talk”
The “Let’s Talk” program provides daily, easy access to informal confidential consultations with CAPS therapists. Consultations are free of charge, and no appointment or paperwork is needed. Let’s Talk is offered multiple times per week.
Grief Support
Grief Support Groups are available for students who want to process their emotions in a shared setting with fellow community members. This is a discussion-based support group.

Student Health Center Psychiatry Clinic is available to currently enrolled UH students. Call 713-743-5149 during clinic hours.
UH Health Family Care Center
UH Health Family Care Center offers affordable, comprehensive primary care services in one convenient location. Staffed by physicians from the Fertitta Family College of Medicine, the UH Family Care Center offers outpatient mental health services, integrated behavioral health services and psychiatry.
A.D. Bruce Religion Center
A.D. Bruce Religion Center offers spiritual support and a variety of programs centered on well-being.
UH Wellness Consultation Service
UH Wellness offers one-on-one consultations for students on a variety of health and wellness issues. Students can talk with a professional to get advice or learn about options, get questions answered or discuss an issue they are dealing with.

Cougars in Recovery provides students in recovery from addiction a safe and substance-free environment that assists and supports them as they pursue their academic and professional goals, walk the path of recovery and participate in the diverse social opportunities available on campus.
The Harris Center
The Harris Center offers a wide variety of mental health services to Harris County – from inpatient and outpatient treatment to education and counseling. Multiple locations are available in the Houston area and services are cost-effective. The Harris Center does not deny services based on a patient’s inability to pay. Academic Accommodations
The Justin Dart, Jr. Student Accessibility Center can be contacted for accommodations for temporary physical impairment, a learning disability or psychological disorder.
Excused Absence Policy
Absences will be excused for medical reasons, among others, in accordance with the University of Houston Undergraduate Excused Absence Policy, which applies to all undergraduate courses in all delivery modes.
Mental Health Focused Registered Student Organizations (RSO)
Active Minds is an organization working to utilize the student voice to change the conversation about mental health on college campuses.
Cats for Mental Health is an organization that will educate students about the importance of mental health as it relates to animal therapy, specifically felines. We will work directly with veterinary organizations and animal rescue groups in Houston to raise awareness for cat care and anti-animal cruelty.
Cougar Connect is here to create a community where students feel heard and supported.
Lifelines Outreach aiming to empower college students at the University of Houston to openly discuss experiences of suicidal ideation or the impact of suicide while educating high school students on effective strategies to support peers or themselves in times of crisis. Through sharing their personal narratives, college students will enhance relatability for high school students, fostering inspiration and admiration. Additionally, the college students will assist high school students in discovering their unique purpose, which will be the beacon of light and hope for them through struggles.
Mindful Coogs Student Organization (MCSO) advocates mindfulness to students, faculty, and staff in order to spread awareness of mental health and well-being.
Mindversity is a student-based organization created to bridge the gap between students and mental health resources. By recognizing the ongoing issues around mental health, the organization hopes to foster a safe and educational environment in which all students feel welcomed.
The Syndicate of Black Psychologists at UH advocates for the progression of Black people in psychology, not only in the profession but also for those seeking psychological help. It aims to destigmatize mental health among minorities and create a network for aspiring Black phycologists.
VOICES (volunteer organization involving community engagement and service) is a service-learning organization focused on healthy living, mental health, health education, mentorship, community development and advocacy.
