Undergraduate
Minor Degree in African American Studies
A minor in African American Studies requires 18 hours of coursework:
- REQUIRED: AAS 2320: Intro to African American Studies and AAS 4370: Seminar in African American Studies (6 hours)
- Six hours in AAS and the humanities, fine arts, or communication courses
- Six hours in AAS social science courses
- 12 of the 18 hours must be in residence
- 12 of the 18 hours must be in AAS courses
- 12 of the 18 hours must be advanced and at least 6 of the advanced hours must be in residences
- A minimum GPA of 2.00 for each minor course
