The Collegiate Cancer Council bestows two awards every year at the Annual CCC Banquet; they are the Founder’s Leadership Award and the Board of Director’s Award.
The Founder's Leadership Award:
Given to the one officer that has gone above and beyond their call of duty as an officer in order of making sure that the Purpose and Action of the CCC is fulfilled in that academic year.

American Cancer Society: Relay for Life

Description:
Relay for Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.

Feria de la Salud - Unidos Contra La Diabetes

Feria de la Salud:
Unidos Contra La Diabetes is an outdoor community event intended to reach thousands of local Latino/Hispanics with the important message that they may be at risk for diabetes. Feria de la Salud captures the festive elements of a street fair, but maintains the important aspects of choosing and managing a healthier lifestyle for the entire Latino family. The atmosphere of Feria de la Salud includes music, dancing, nutritional information, cooking demonstrations, speakers on topics related to diabetes, screenings, a variety of products, and service booths.

The Skin Cancer Screening

Description:
The First Annual Collegiate Cancer Council Skin Cancer Screening at the University of Houston was a great success! We had about 100 students, faculty, and staff come out and be screened for Skin Cancer, Visual Acuity, Glaucoma, and Blood Pressure.

Breast Health Information Table

In the lobby of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center was the Cougar Peer Education Program (Cougar PEP) Breast Cancer Awareness table with the Paint Your Nails Pink fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. CCC provided all the Breast Cancer Education Materials for the event.

Breast Cancer Survivor Brown Bag Luncheon

Description:
The Women Resource Center (W.R.C.) and the Collegiate Cancer Council (CCC) held a brown bag luncheon to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The luncheon was moderated by W.R.C. director Susan Rosthal, a Breast Cancer Survivor, and featured two additional survivors. The youngest survivor, Jessica Slessinger was 23 years old and made a large impact on the college women in the crowd as she emphasized the importance of early detection and breast self exams.

Health Care for All Texas - "Denied: The Crisis of America's Uninsured"

Health Care for All Texas, a coalition that promotes universal health care in Texas through education and policy setting, is sponsoring "Denied:
The Crisis of America's Uninsured," portraits and accounts of individuals suffering the consequences of a failed health care system.
This photographic documentary, which has been exhibited from the California Capitol to the Empire Building, has toured six cities in Texas this fall, from El Paso to Houston.
