The Collegiate Cancer Council (CCC) is a registered campus organization for students that are interested in learning about cancer and health disparities and wish to educate their peers and the community about cancer and its prevention. Activities include participation in the American Cancer Society's - "Relay for Life," The Texas Dragon Boat Association Race, the Biennial Symposium on Minorities, the Medically Underserved & Cancer and numerous events within the field of cancer and health disparities. The Collegiate Cancer Council works closely with the Intercultural Cancer Council, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Information Service and a growing list of Honorary Members from various medical schools, educational institutions, and treatment centers.
CCC is the first nationally recognized undergraduate cancer council that embraces students in the pursuit of aiding with the fight against cancer and health disparities. CCC functions as an educational and service organization, and membership affords an opportunity to give and receive as you educate and become informed, develop initiative, and enhance leadership skills through participation in the organization. Membership in the CCC is regarded as a commitment to better our health care system.
This organization will shape and change the cancer and health care world, as we know it. We hope that the combined efforts within these many councils around the country will have a national impact. Thank you for helping our cause. Thank you for joining us to "changing lives one community at a time" regarding the lives that are impacted by our health care system.
