C-Change is comprised of about 130 Members-including the heads of federal and state governmental agencies, private businesses, the motion picture industry, and nonprofit groups-whose missions relate to cancer research, control, and/or patient advocacy. Other individuals with a deep concern about cancer and who have achieved prominence in the entertainment, news, and other industries or endeavors also are engaged in C-Change. Corporate Angel Network is the only charitable organization in the USA whose sole mission is to ease the emotional stress, physical discomfort, and financial burden of travel for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centers, using the empty seats on corporate aircraft flying on routine business. Hope Through Grace has conducted over twenty workshop series and seminars. The instructional goal is to underscore the importance and value of health, wellness, and cancer prevention behaviors; and instructional modules, taught by physicians and other certified professionals, are culturally sensitive to age, ethnic and education differences. www.hopethroughgrace.org.
The Intercultural Cancer Council (ICC) promotes policies, programs, partnerships, and research to eliminate the unequal burden of cancer among racial and ethnic minorities and medically underserved populations in the United States and its associated territories. LINCC was one of the five original Cancer Prevention and Control Research Networks (CPCRN) funded in 2002. LINCC is now one of eight CPCRNs funded until the year 2009. These networks consist of academic, public health, and community partnerships. The Networks are housed within Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) at University of Texas-Houston, Emory University, Harvard University, Morehouse College, St. Louis University, University of California-Los Angeles, University of North Carolina, and University of Washington. The Texas Cancer Data Center (TCDC) provides information on health professionals, health facilities, demographics and statistics, and community resources via the Internet at no charge. TCDC is an information service, funded by the Texas Cancer Council, dedicated to empowering Texans with the knowledge needed to reduce the human and economic impact of cancer.
