Skyler is a counseling psychology doctoral candidate with 2 years of training experience in a university counseling center with additional experience in a VA and community clinic settings. They enjoy working alongside clients to create a safe therapeutic space where clients can learn more about themselves and reach therapy goals. Skyler aims to support clients through their therapeutic journey by helping to instill hope, self-compassion, and self-empowerment.
Skyler’s clinical interests include working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, difficulty adjusting to new situations/environments, identity development, and relationship concerns. Relational-cultural theory (RCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a strong focus on emotional processing is Skyler’s primary approach; however, they also draw on other therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
