Lose Your Cougar Card on the Weekend or at Night? Get a Replacement One After Hours Through UHPD

University of Houston students may not realize how much they rely on their Cougar Card until they misplace or lose it.

When that happens on a weekend or at night when the Cougar Card office is closed, then it’s an even bigger problem. How will they be able to use their meal plans in the dining halls, pay for printing services or even get inside their residence hall?

The university has come up with a solution by allowing students, faculty and staff to get a temporary replacement card after hours.

How does it work? It’s easy:

  1. Immediately report your card lost by logging in to AccessUH. Click on the Cougar Card icon and select “Report Lost Card” under the “My Card” tab.
  2. Go to the police department at 3859 Wheeler and explain that you need a temporary After Hours Replacement Cougar Card. You will be asked to show a valid form of identification, such as a driver’s license, and complete a temporary card agreement form.
  3. The police department will verify that you are a current student or employee and will issue you a temporary card.

The temporary cards are good until the end of the next business day and are loaded with all current privileges.

Cardholders will be responsible for getting a replacement card at the Cougar Card office, which is in the Welcome Center Parking Garage, Suite 151, during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fee for a replacement Cougar Card is $20. Cardholders who don’t bring the temporary card at that time will be charged an additional $20.
