UH TEX-FAB Event Bridging Digital Designs, Physical Environment

Digital technology continues to shape our physical world. Increasingly, designers develop art, architecture, urban resources and other material concepts using high tech tools.

TEX-FAB is a network of organizations and professionals committed to the exploration of three-dimensional design and digital production of building components. Founded by architects and designers in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas, TEX-FAB hosts events where industry professionals, students and educators can share ideas and information.

The University of Houston's Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture will host the TEX-FAB 2.0 Event Feb. 10 - 13. The event will offer lectures and workshops led by noted industry leaders. For additional details on the symposium or to register for workshops, visit www.tex-fab.net.

The event centers on the unveiling in the College of Architecture Atrium of the winning proposal of the REPEAT Digital Fabrication Competition organized by TEX-FAB.  The winner of the competition Vlad Tenu, a young Romanian designer from London, will be lecturing on his work of computational architecture called "Minimal Complexity" which has been realized by TEX-FAB, local fabricators in Houston and UH College of Architecture students.

All TEX-FAB lectures are free and open to the public. They are conducted in the College of Architecture's Theater. Workshops require paid registration.
