This weekend, University of Houston students have yet another reason to celebrate their status as Cougars.
Frontier Fiesta returns March 25 - 27 in the parking lot of UH's Robertson Stadium with live music, carnival rides, cook-offs and Broadway-style student performances. This free event is produced by UH students and open to the Houston community.
A tradition since the 1940s, Frontier Fiesta was labeled "The Greatest College Show on Earth" by Life magazine. Since its inception, the western-themed festival showcases the talent and diversity that define Cougar culture.
Adding to the Texas flavor of the event is Fiesta City, a replica of a 19th century cow town that serves as home base for all Frontier Fiesta activities.
Highlights of Frontier Fiesta 2010 include:
- Battle of the Bands - 7 p.m., March 25
- Hip-Hop Night featuring Clipse - 7 p.m., March 26
- Mark McKinney in concert - 10:30 p.m., March 27
