Darrin Talley President, ExxonMobil

Darrin Talley is President, ExxonMobil with responsibility for overseeing more than 2000 engineers and scientists. EMRE’s research and engineering centers in North America, Europe, and Asia are actively engaged in long-term, strategic discovery research, delivery of advantaged technology to ExxonMobil’s Downstream and Chemical businesses and engineering programs to continuously improve the performance of ExxonMobil’s manufacturing operations. He is located in Spring, Texas.

A native of Paris, Missouri, Darrin earned his B.S in mechanical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating he joined ExxonMobil as a Field Engineer in Detroit, Michigan with the Mobil Corporation in 1988. He has broad experience in refinery and chemical operations and plant management, fuels and lubes marketing, strategic planning. In 2011 he was named Vice President of Marketing for ExxonMobil's Fuels and Lubricants business and in 2015, Darrin became Vice President of Global Real Estate and Facilities, Global Services Company, located in Spring, Texas.

In 2017, he returned to the corporate headquarters in Irving to become Manager of Corporate Strategy and was then appointed President of ExxonMobil Research and Engineering on April 1, 2020 Darrin currently serves on the University of Houston’s Energy Advisory Board that is composed of energy industry experts and leaders serving to advance energy education and research. Darrin and his wife Sarah have two children, Denver and Anna. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading and various outdoor activities.
