What We Do
The Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) is committed to producing rigorous research that addresses complex social challenges at local and global levels. We strive to conduct innovative and methodologically sound research that is grounded in collaborative approaches. Our faculty bring deep expertise across a wide range of topics and share a commitment to generating research that informs real-world solutions and examines the systems and practices contributing to outcomes in health and well-being.
Our Approach
We support evidence-driven inquiry into pressing societal issues by providing a robust infrastructure for research through our four centers. These centers offer focused areas of study that contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations and support impactful scholarship. GCSW MSW and Ph.D. students engage directly in applied research and receive training in advanced methodologies and analytical techniques. Across all our efforts, we work in partnership with communities to better understand factors shaping well-being and to inform practices and policies that improve access, outcomes, and quality of life.
