Provost Profiles: Rosemarie Le, Researcher on the Rise
Dear UH Family,
The University of Houston is known for many things. We’re recognized as a premier research university, an institution of innovation, a destination campus for students from around the globe, and of course, home to one of the nation’s best men’s basketball teams (Go Coogs!).
UH also has gained a reputation for the many research opportunities it provides to its students. Just as our graduate students embark on missions of discovery, UH’s undergrads also participate in insightful academic investigations.
These Coogs are mentored by our generous faculty, who help them hone their talents as researchers and scholars. Mentored research projects help our undergraduate students grow as critical thinkers and develop a number of skills that will come in handy during graduate school or in their professional careers.
Among UH's researchers on the rise is Rosemarie Le, our featured student in this month’s edition of Provost Profiles.
As you’ll hear in our interview, Rosemarie grew up close to another major Texas university but selected UH! She’s glad she made that decision because her experiences have been nothing short of transformative.
She’s a junior Honors Biomedical Sciences major and has been active in UH’s Houston Early Research Experience and Honors in Community Health initiatives. Rosemarie’s research endeavors have taken her into the Texas Medical Center, where she’s served as a summer undergraduate research intern for Houston Methodist.
Rosemarie was happy to share her story with me, and I am now equally pleased to do so with you!
I hope you enjoy my interview with her and continue to have a productive semester.
