Provost Profiles: Meet Christian Avalos

Dear UH Family,

I am inspired by the positive feedback to Provost Profiles. While I certainly enjoy sitting down and meeting with outstanding students, I’ve heard that you also like getting to know our talented Cougars as well!

On that note, it’s my pleasure to present the latest edition of this monthly video series in which I connect with our remarkable Coogs. This month’s conversation is with C. T. Bauer College of Business student Christian Avalos.

Christian is the very definition of the term “go getter.” He’s the former president of UH’s Hispanic Business Student Association and remains active with this popular campus organization. Recently, Christian was named National Student of the Year by the Association of Professional Latinos for America—a tremendous honor for both Christian and the University.

Christian’s family moved to Houston from Mexico 11 years ago, and his higher education journey began at Houston Community College. He is truly a role model for students at his former college and right here on our campus.

But don’t take my word for it! Watch my interview with Christian and learn more about this outstanding Coog!

Respectfully,

Diane Z. Chase
UH Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
