AIM-AHEAD

Overview

The University of Houston is part of AIM-AHEAD, a $50 million NIH-funded national initiative led by the University of North Texas Health Science Center. The program aims to enhance the participation and representation of researchers in the development of AI/ML models and to improve the capabilities of this emerging technology, beginning with electronic health records (EHR) and extending to other large datasets that address a myriad of health conditions.

Dr. Bettina Beech is leading the AIM-AHEAD South-Central Hub at the University of Houston. The program brings together experts in community engagement, AI/ML, data science training, and data infrastructure to conduct real-world research to improve population health.
