Minor in Geology
Students who minor in Geology must complete the general requirements for a minor in addition to the following.

The minor in Geology is not available to Earth Science majors.

Minor in Geophysics
Students who minor in Geophysics must complete the general requirements for a minor in addition to the following.

(to include 6 hours geophysics electves)
NOTE: Students must earn a 2.00 minimum cumulative grade point average in all courses attempted in the minor at University of Houston. No course in which a grade of less than C- is earned may count towards the minor. There is presently no Earth Science minor.
Minor in Atmospheric Sciences

- GEOL 1302 - Introduction to Global Climate Change Credit Hours: 3.0
- GEOL 1347 (formerly 1350) - Introduction to Meteorology Credit Hours: 3.0
- GEOL 3378 - Principles of Atmospheric Science Credit Hours: 3.0
- Six semester hours of approved advanced electives (see advisor for list)
Students should consult the Academic Regulations and Degree Requirements section of this catalog for general information on the requirements for minors. Students must earn a 2.00 minimum cumulative grade point average on all courses attempted in the minor discipline at the University of Houston. Courses which by catalog statement cannot be applied toward a degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, or which have other relevant catalog restrictions will not be included in the minor grade point average.
This minor is not available for students pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Science (Option B. Atmospheric Sciences).
