Rylie Jefferson joined The University of Houston LGBTQ Resource Center & Women and Gender Resource Center team as the new office coordinator on July 9. Prior to being hired at UH, Rylie worked at Houston Community College as a financial aid assistant. Rylie is currently obtaining her Associates Degree in Applied Science from Houston Community College and will transfer to University of Houston to pursue a Bachelor in Human Resource Development. Rylie has been an advocate for the LGBTQ community for over ten years and currently sits on the board for Save Our Sisters United (SOSU), Houston’s first and only organization for trans and cis-gendered women. She is excited to be a part of the LGBTQ and Women and Gender Resource Centers and is looking forward to supporting both staff and students while helping to create a welcoming space for all.
