SUPPORT THE ARTS BY BECOMING A FRIEND OF SCHOOL OF ART

The Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts, fondly known as KGMCA, is a college, performing arts center, museum, and cross-disciplinary environment located in the heart of Houston Texas’s fifth ward.

Friends of the School of Art is a group of engaged supporters of the arts and arts education, offering educational programming and opportunities for dialogue around the role of the University of Houston School of Art at the heart of Houston’s rich visual arts community.

Members have the opportunity to engage regularly through exclusive events with the faculty and graduate students who make the UH School of Art a leader in arts education, production, and exhibition.

The Friends of the School of Art offers Houston’s only consistent opportunity to connect with established artists on the UH faculty and emerging artists in the largest MFA program in Visual Arts — and the only one of its kind at a public university — in Houston.

The UH School of Art drives Houston’s visual arts scene through community engagement, innovative practice, and rigorous academic inquiry. The Friends of the School of Art support this work by funding programming, scholarships, and capital improvements.
