IP-DNS Service

Systems and devices that require an IP (Internet Protocol) address to connect to the campus network should be configured to get their IP address using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).

A static or fixed IP address is assigned only for devices that require them, such as on-campus networked printers and servers.  A static IP Address also requires a DNS (Domain Name Service) address.

Current faculty and staff at UH can use the IP-DNS Management website to create and/or update one or more static IP-DNS addresses.  If you have trouble using this service, please contact Information Technology Support Center at 713-743-1411, or use our Live Chat service for assistance.
