ERS automatically provides active eligible employees who are enrolled in a Group Benefits
Program health plan with $5,000 of Basic Term Life Insurance and $5,000 of Accidental
Death & Dismemberment coverage (AD&D).
- Optional Life insurance can be purchased increments of 1, 2, 3, or 4 times your annual salary. Evidence of Insurability is always required after your first 30 days of employment, but if you elect 1 or 2 times your annual salary during your first 30 days, Evidence of Insurability is not required.
- AD&D (Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance) can be elected without evidence of insurability. You can purchase up to $200,000 of AD&D for only $8 per month. Lower coverage amounts are priced at a lower rate.
- Dependent Life insurance can be purchased for $1.38 per month and pays $5,000.
