A standout moment of the evening was the recognition of 30 students with the President's Volunteer Service Award—a prestigious national honor. Together, these students dedicated an impressive 6,161 hours of their time to various community service initiatives, showcasing their commitment to making a positive impact both at the University of Houston and in the greater community.

The ceremony welcomed over 150 guests, including faculty, staff, students, and family members, all gathered to celebrate the vibrant spirit of leadership that thrives at the University of Houston.

One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the esteemed Legacy Award, the highest recognition bestowed upon student leaders, presented by Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Paul Kittle. This year, the Legacy Award was presented to Han Diep, Lorissa Saiz, and Omar Castañón for their exceptional leadership, dedication, and lasting impact on the University of Houston community.

"The Campus Leaders Award Ceremony was a great way to celebrate the hard work that people from all kinds of organizations put in all year and celebrate the amazing things everyone has done” said MVP Director and Legacy Award winner, Omar Castañón.

Katy Kaesebier, director of the Center for Student Involvement offered, opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks and later reflected, “Our students, registered student organizations, and advisors work so hard all year to contribute to a vibrant campus culture. The Campus Leaders ceremony is a wonderful way to recognize their efforts and impact on campus. I am continually impressed by their accomplishments and proud to be part of the UH community.”

The University of Houston extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees and expresses gratitude to the entire campus community for their ongoing dedication to fostering a culture of leadership and service.
