The Resilient Coogs Group

The Resilient Coogs Group (TRCG) is a student-led program established to support UH students in developing a strong foundation of resilience, contributing to their academic success and personal well-being throughout their college experience.

The objective of TRCG is to build community, learn self-compassion, increase self-confidence, practice commitment, and be centered in themselves through college life.

This group will be facilitated by students, Graduate Assistants, and Student Interns and overseen by Juliet Ogbonna (LMSW) and other CSE staff.

TRCG will be provided in two (2) sessions of five (5) weeks each on Wednesdays excluding those of Circle Time With CSE as seen in the schedule below;

First Session - Sept 11th - Oct 16th (5 Weeks excluding Oct 2nd for Circle Time With CSE)

Second Session - October 23rd - Nov 27th (5 Weeks excluding Nov 6th for Circle Time With CSE)

Topic: Rebuilding and Maintaining Self-Esteem Topic: Adaptable Coogs
Time: 2-3 pm Time: 2-3 pm

Group Goals

My College and I: This group aims to help students develop a positive and proactive relationship with their college experience by understanding and leveraging campus resources, building a supportive network, and aligning their values with their academic goals.

Self-Care/Self-Compassion: This group is developed to help students cultivate a consistent self-care routine and practice self-compassion to enhance well-being and manage stress effectively.

Rebuilding and Maintaining Self-Esteem: This group aims to help students foster healthy self-esteem by setting realistic goals, recognizing achievements, and challenging negative self-talk.

The Adaptable Coogs: This group is developed to enhance student’s adaptability and flexibility in the face of academic and personal challenges by developing effective coping strategies and embracing change.
