The UH Next program is currently available for majors within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS). Some CLASS majors may not be available at every partner community college based on course availability.
Students interested in majors outside of CLASS can refer to the Transfer Equivalency Guides and Transfer Advising Program. More information about transferring into UH is available on the UH Admissions website.
Students who have successfully completed 30 semester credit hours and have a 2.50 or higher grade point average (GPA) will be accepted to UH in a CLASS major upon completion of the Common App or Apply Texas application and receipt of their official community college transcript(s).
Students with a GPA of 2.25 or higher but below 2.49 may receive admission to UH through individual college review with an admission decision based on grades in recent coursework that predict success in upper-level courses. UH requires a 2.50 or higher GPA for assured admission to the university as a transfer student.
Students are strongly encouraged to complete their associate degree at the community college before transferring to UH. Students who do not complete their associate degree before transfer should consent to reverse transfer on their Common App or Apply Texas application to earn their associate degree from the community college after transferring to UH.
