Study #24: Smoking, Stress, and Mobile Technology
The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of a mobile app for Black and African American smokers that are interested in quitting smoking. To participate in this study, you must: 1) Smoke cigarettes daily, 2) Identify as Black or African American, 3) Want to quit smoking, and 4) Be at least 18 years old. You can earn up to $400 for participating in this 54-week study. All aspects of the study are completed remotely. Click here to find out if you're eligible!

Study #33: Sensitivity to Threat
The purpose of this study is to understand the role of sensitivity to unpredictable threat in smoking lapse and relapse behavior. This study involves 3 visits to the lab, and compensation up to $200 is available. Smokers 20 years and older who smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day may be eligible to participate.

Estudio #55: Proyecto de Intervención de Salud Entre los Adultos Jóvenes de la Populacion Latinx
Este estudio está diseñado para jóvenes Latinx interesados en mejorar sus hábitos de salud. Puede ser elegible para participar si (1) tiene entre 18 y 25 años, (2) se identifica usted mismo como Latinx, (3) puede leer, escribir y comunicarse en español y (4) puede expresar inquietudes sobre su peso.
Su participación implica asistir a seis sesiones en línea y completar nueve evaluaciones en línea. Los participantes pueden obtener hasta $90 en tarjetas de regalo electrónicas por su participación. Las tarjetas de regalo electrónicas se pueden canjear a través de la plataforma Tango, que le permite elegir una tarjeta de regalo según sus preferencias de compra de más de 100 negocios diferentes.

Study #55: Project Health Intervention among Latinx Young Adults
This study is designed for Latinx young adults interested in making improvements in their health habits. You may be eligible to participate if you (1) are between the ages of 18-25, (2) self-identify as Latinx, (3) can read, write, and communicate in Spanish, and (3) express concerns about your weight. Participation involves nine visits to our lab at the University of Houston. Participants will earn up to $90 for their participation.

Study #59: Weight and College Students
The purpose of this study is to better understand obesity among college students. Students from the University of Houston, between the ages of 18-65 who have a BMI of ≥ 35 may participate for course credit through the SONA system.

Study #70: Fatigue and Smoking Relapse
The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between fatigue and cigarette smoking behaviors among adults. This study involves 3 visits to the lab, and compensation up to $200 is available. Adults that are between the ages 20-65 and feel tired may be eligible to participate.

Study #77: Pain Anxiety and Smoking Lapse
This study is designed for African American smokers to better understand the relationship between pain related anxiety and chronic pain on smoking behavior. Study #80: Latinx Drinking and Anxiety
This study involves a computer-delivered intervention that addresses drinking and anxiety. You may be eligible to participate if you (1) are between 21 and 75 years of age, (2) self-identify as Latinx or Hispanic, (3) are fluent in Spanish, (4) report regular alcohol consumption, and (5) experience anxiety. Eligible participants for the current study that complete the entirety of the study will have the opportunity to receive up to $115 in cash or electronic gift cards.
