BOUNCE Featured on Ch 11 KHOU News.

Houston's KHOU Ch 11 News featured a segment on the BOUNCE program at The University of Houston. It highlighted the efforts of the BOUNCE program on reducing obesity in minority girls and teaching them about nutrition, exercise, body image and self esteem.

Below is an excerpt from the article:

“We want to break the cycle so these children have a choice by eating healthy and being more active,” BOUNCE founder Norma Olvera said.

The program is taught at the University of Houston and lasts a year.

The girls attend most of the classes on their own, but at least once a week their parents are required to attend, too.
