Nyocia Edwards

I joined the Center for Diversity in November 2017 as a Diversity Education Coordinator. I currently serve as a Diversity Education Program Manager overseeing the development of diversity based programming, facilitating diversity workshops and training, and empowering members of the UH community to learn about diversity, celebrate differences, and foster inclusive environments. Prior to working at the University of Houston, I worked at various student and youth-based organizations focused on education, as well as advocacy and organizing for members of diverse populations. As a social justice change agent, I am deeply passionate about using my voice, expertise, and resources as a way to partner with and advocate for all young people. I believe that each young person has an inherited power, and if they are supported, they will greatly contribute to a world that is diverse and inclusive.
