The Division of Administration and Finance Division Awards
Employees of the Division of Administration and Finance provide unique support services for the entire UH community. In an effort to recognize meritorious service exhibited by Division employees, the following awards have been implemented.
2023 Years of Service Recognition
Administration and Finance would like to recognize the amazing accomplishment and loyalty of our employees and their many years of service.
“V.I.S.I.O.N.” AWARD
DescriptionThis award recognizes the employee(s) from within the Division who supported the University through their Service Excellence in efforts that were:
Visionary by exhibiting commitment to long-term planning;
Impactful by contributing to the success of the University of Houston;
Strategic by maximizing efficiency through the use of technology and automation;
Innovative by promoting new methods and ideas;
Outcome-Focused by incorporating data-driven decision-making into the workplace; and/or
North Star-Focused by supporting the University of Houston in the path to becoming a Top 50 Public University.
Award
Each winner receives a plaque and a $1,000 stipend.
Submission Criteria
Nominations must provide specific examples of how the nominee demonstrates excellence in each of the categories listed above. Additionally, each nomination should include two statements of support from other University community members.*
*If the nomination is from outside of the nominee’s unit, one support statement should be from the nominee’s supervisor. If the nomination originates from within the nominee’s unit, the support statements should be from individuals outside the unit.
TEAM INNOVATION AWARD
Description
This award recognizes a team that created and implemented an innovative program, practice, product or partnership which has significantly improved the efficiency of a process or system to support and benefit the University community as a whole
Award
The winning team will receive a plaque and a $1,000 gift card for a catered celebratory lunch or UH hosted team activity.
Submission Criteria
Nominations should include a description of the program, practice, product or partnership that was created and implemented, the core team members involved in concept design, development and implementation as well as how the end product improved efficiency and the impact on the University community.
TEAM IMPACT AWARD
This award recognizes a team of employees within the Division who are involved in a program or project that has had a positive impact on the University or a department, and which has assisted the University in growing its national competitiveness, student success, social responsibility/community engagement, or competitive funding.
Award
Team members will receive a plaque and a $500 gift card for a catered celebratory lunch or UH hosted team activity.
Submission Criteria
Program/project must originate from a department in the Division. Nominations should include a description of the program/project which the team developed/implemented, the impact on the University, and how that impact supports one of the foundations of the University’s strategic plan.
How is this award different from the Team Innovation Award?
The Team Impact Award does not require that the team create a new program or project, so award recipients may demonstrate high effectiveness in maintaining an existing program or project, adjusting programs or projects to new circumstances and/or applying previous programs or projects to new areas of the University.
SILENT SERVICE AWARD
Description
This award recognizes the employee(s) within the Division who exhibited superior work performance, while exemplifying a positive and cooperative attitude on a day-to-day basis “behind the scenes” without self-promotion or aggrandizement. The recipient demonstrates a commitment to Service Excellence with a steady, pragmatic approach, and contributes toward the Division’s strategic goals.
Award
The winner receives a plaque and a $500 stipend.
Submission Criteria
Managerial positions are not eligible for this award. Nominations should describe work performance, attitude/demeanor and contributions made to the department.
