Did You Know? Cougar Card After-Hours Replacement Service Available

Did you lose your Cougar Card, and the Cougar Card Office is closed? Are you trying to get into your residence hall after a late night studying at the library, but your card has suddenly stopped working? Never fear. By taking advantage of the Cougar Card after-hours replacement program, you can obtain a temporary card and be back on your feet in no time.

The after-hours replacement service allows UH students, faculty and staff who have lost or had their Cougar Card stolen to obtain a temporary replacement card they can use until the Cougar Card Office reopens.

To take advantage of this service, log in to AccessUH and follow these easy steps to report a card lost or stolen. Once you have reported the card lost or stolen, stop by the UH Police Department at 3869 Wheeler to receive a temporary replacement Cougar Card. UHPD will need to verify you are a current student or employee before they issue you the new card, so be prepared with an alternative form of identification (driver’s license, passport or state-issued ID).

The temporary replacement Cougar Card is loaded with all the privileges of an official Cougar Card. It will expire 24 business hours after the time of issue. Cardholders are responsible for obtaining an official replacement Cougar Card at the Cougar Card Office, located in the Welcome Center Parking Garage, Suite 151 (4434 University Drive). The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The temporary replacement Cougar Card must be turned in to the Cougar Card Office at the time of replacement, or an additional $20 will be added to the standard card replacement fee.

For more information about this program, contact the Cougar Card Office at 832-842-CARD (2273).
