Supervisor Training Enrichment Program

STEP into Success with POD

 

It is not uncommon for supervisors to come into the role without training or former experience and this can cause issues for the supervisor, the employee and even the University.  Through a combination of online and instructor led classes, HR will host a collection of trainings for all supervisors and managers to enhance their skills.   In partnership with Staff Council, the Human Resources Training Team has develop a new supervisors training program designed to increase the knowledge and effectiveness of supervisors.

 

Professional Organizational Development (POD), a division of Human Resources, is excited to announce that we will be starting a new series for STEP (Supervisor Training Enrichment Program) beginning on June 17, 2014.  This series is a combination of classroom and online sessions providing a solid base for managers with tools for success.

Requirements:

  • Manage Employees
  • Interest in learning & developing skills

The following courses will be held from 8:45-12:00pm in 341 McElhinney

  • Tuesday, July 1                      Art of Talent Acquisition

  • Tuesday, July 8                      Cultural Sensitivity in the Workplace

  • Tuesday, July 15                    Performance

  • Tuesday, July 22                    Safety in the Workplace         

  • Tuesday, July 29                    Panel Discussion & Next Steps

Online Trainings include topics such as:

  • Compensation
  • eForms
  • Benefits
  • Employee Relations
  • Safety & Reporting
