University of Houston Starter Kit is a special digital support program for all incoming first-year students in Fall 2024 to start right away this summer getting to know the University of Houston and getting tips for having a successful first year.

Who can participate?

All incoming UH first-year undergraduate students - both freshmen and transfers - can join the program by attending a live, 1-hour Zoom event this summer.

What does the program include?

The 1-hour Zoom event happens over the summer before the start of the school year. After participating in the Zoom event, students will receive follow-up communications from the program via text with tips for how to succeed at UH as well as opportunities to earn gift cards throughout the fall semester.

What will students get for participating?

Students will have opportunities to earn rewards and entry into a raffle for a $500 gift card to the UH bookstore.

Will students be charged for the program?

No. This program is absolutely free.

Students will receive more information about the Houston Starter Kit program starting in June 2024, including dates and times of the Zoom events.
