The 2014-2015 school year has officially begun, and now is the perfect time to think about the College Readiness Assignments (CRAs). CRAs are free tools available for use in high school, developmental, and introductory college courses. In addition, they have been endorsed by several Education Service Centers (ESCs) and Independent School District (ISDs) for use in the development of HB 5 college prep courses.
Throughout the summer, many new resources to support CRA adoption and instruction have been added to improve the CRAFTx.org website:
- Getting Started Guide – for instructors brand new to CRAs
- 15-Minute Quick Start – for those wanting a brief overview
- Field-Test Data Summary – for those who wish to understand the rigor of our process and the quality of CRAs
- Student Writing Samples – complete with explanations and annotations about their college readiness levels
- CRA Template & Instructional Video – for instructors who wish to create their own versions of CRAs
- Blog – for those who wish to stay updated on important readiness topics such as pedagogical techniques, cross-disciplinary skills, and career readiness
All educators are encouraged to visit the site and take advantage of these valuable new tools. Remember that every resource on CRAFTx.org is free!
