Greg Hemenway's Ph.D. research is being supported by a Graduate Research Supplement through the Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) program sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Greg is working with Dr. Vaughn Climenhaga on problems related to thermodynamic formalism in dynamical systems, which uses the mathematical tools of statistical mechanics to quantify the ways in which deterministic systems exhibit behavior that appears random.
