How to print a crystal in 3D

In collaboration with scientists at Indiana University, UH Chemistry graduate student Teng-Hao Chen and Professor Ognjen Miljanic have developed a simple method for the production of 3D-printed models of crystal structures. This work, published in CrystEngComm, uses the cutting-edge technology of 3D printing to produce inexpensive physical models of crystal structures that are useful for research and classroom instruction. The researchers' article was highlighted in Chemical & Engineering News  and Chemistry World , and has been featured on the front cover of CrystEngComm.
