Offshore Energy Standards Workshop set for May 8 at UH

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) will hold its 2015 Domestic and International Standards Workshop May 8 at the University of Houston. The workshop will feature speakers from both industry and the federal government.

The workshop will focus on four areas, critical both to the oil and gas industry and to domestic and international regulators. They are:

  • High pressure high temperature
  • Cementing
  • Quality management and equipment reliability, and
  • Emergency disconnects: dynamic positioning and the BOP response.

Each session will last all day; attendees choose which to attend. Each session will include a review, the current status of both domestic and international regulations, concerns and needs about the standards, a status report on the progress of current standards development, and industry updates.
